Inquiry - Solids to liquids - Activity 1
- Experiment 1 Ice in the sink
In cold water 4 ice cubes took 8 minutes and 13 seconds to melt.
- Experiment 2 Ice in the sun
It was 16 degrees outside, 4 ice cubes took 21 minutes.
- Experiment 3 Ice in the fridge
4 ice cubes in a cup in the fridge took longer than 4 hours, they melted overnight.
The hotter the place that the ice cubes are placed in the quicker the ice cubes will melt. This is because the ice cubes are colder.
